Basically, a tracking stick is used to see the tracks. Though its not essential to use them at the time of tracking, but it’s really useful to use when you are going for a trek for the first time. It aids to train your eyes to see subtle sign and tracks by concentrating in the right search area. The tracking stick also assists you to learn how you can track by concentrating on the ground for the upcoming track. Walk doesn’t differ radically when walking on flat ground. Walking downhill or uphill, running could evolve the speed and this is something to know about as a tracker.
